元宵節最有趣的活動莫過於猜燈迷囉~這對已經年過25歲的
Ivy 似乎有點困難,不過我相信呢,這些簡單的題目一定難不了
聰明的各位,所以有時間就上來試一試身手啦~~~

元宵節來臨囉~
Lantern Festival (摘自網路文章)
元宵節的由來
The 15th day of the 1st lunar month is the Chinese Lantern Festival because the first lunar month is called yuan-month and in the ancient times people called night Xiao. The 15th day is the first night to see a full moon. So the day is also called Yuan Xiao Festival in China.
According to the Chinese tradition, at the very beginning of a new year, when there is a bright full moon hanging in the sky, there should be thousands of colorful lanterns hung out for people to appreciate. At this time, people will try to solve the puzzles on the lanterns and eat yuanxiao (glutinous rice ball) and get all their families united in the joyful atmosphere.
Here is a story of Yuanxiao. (元宵)
Long ago, there was a palace maid named Yuanxiao. Yuanxiao was very homesick. She missed her family and wanted to see them, but she could not leave the palace because she was the Emperor’s maid.
But Yuanxiao was very smart and came up with a plan to visit her family. One day, Yuanxiao told the Emperor that the God of Fire visited her and said that he was going to burn down the entire city, and that the only way to stop him was to make it look like the city was already on fire. The Emperor took this warning very seriously. To make the city look like it was on fire, he ordered that bright lanterns be hung all over the city streets, and tons of firecrackers be lit. That evening, the Emperor’s palace and the entire city was filled with activity.
Everyone was busy making and hanging lanterns, and firecrackers were exploding all around. Because everyone was distracted by their work and the noise of the firecrackers, Yuanxiao was able to sneak out of the palace and visit her family for a joyous family reunion.

Traditions of Chinese New Year
Celebrations today are both literal and symbolic.
Spring cleaning (大掃除) is started about a month
prior to the new year and must be completed before
the celebrations begin.
Typically red envelopes (紅包) called “Lai See” with money
tucked inside are given out as a symbol of good luck.
The amount is usually an even number as odd numbers
are regarded as unlucky.
Lions are considered to be good omens.
The lion dance (舞龍舞獅) is believed to repel demons.
Each lion has two dancers, one to maneuver the head,
the other the back. During the New Year celebrations
people do not fight or be mean to each other, as this
would bring a bad, unlucky year.
Foods during the holiday hold symbolism as well.
Typically red meat is not served and one is careful not
to serve or eat from a chipped or cracked plate.
Fish is eaten to ensure long life and good fortune.
Red dates (紅棗) bring the hope for prosperity,
melon seeds (瓜子) for proliferation and lotus seeds
(蓮子) mean the family will prosper through time.
Oranges and tangerines (橘子) symbolize wealth
and good fortune. Nian gao (年糕), the New Year's
Cake is always served. It is believed that the higher
the cake rises the better the year will be.
When company stops by a "prosperity tray" is served.
The tray has eight sides (another symbol of prosperity)
and is filled with goodies like red dates, melon seeds,
cookies and New Year's Cakes.

12/31 謝謝大家一年來的支持耶~
今天是2008年最後一天,雖然天氣冷颼颼...在英語繪本組裡
可是溫暖收獲多很多的..因為有太多太多美好的回憶了~
不管在這個年度裡所接觸的人與事都讓Ivy成長,謝謝大家
在2008這個風風雨雨,天災人禍不斷的年度裡能夠繼續發
揮愛心....無私的為所有孩子服務~真誠感動天~大家一定
能夠在2009年心想事成~平安健康~闔家快樂~
一起在2009年繼續加油吧.......go........go.......go~

12/24敲響聖誕鐘聲
今年的聖誕節對大家來說應該會很不一樣,因為今年度Ivy
出了個餿主意~去校長室報佳音 (當初報佳音這個活動是
親愛的Anita老師提出的~~~可惜一直沒機會表現表現),
Ivy乃是行動派......說做就做...不過真是累壞了408的
賴老師及同學們努力的配合及練習.....................謝謝啦~
今天上場的時間有點倉促,不過同學都表現的很不錯耶>
Excellent~Wonderful~Amazing~Great~Well done....
拍拍手ㄚ.. (可惜Ivy沒帶相機拍照..不過老師應該有照喔,
我拿到了再po上來囉)
當然也要感謝其他媽媽辛苦的準備聖誕節的活動,帶給同

12/12 The snowman ~ for Christmas
今天上場是"The snowman"這本英文書,
圖書館內也有中文版, 這是Ivy還蠻喜歡
的書喔...因為是Christmas啦, so 就推薦
給所有同學囉~
活動:
1. 故事介紹 ~有許多同學看過這本書,Ivy問了大家看到了什麼
呢?有人說雪人會飛好厲害,還有人把這本無字書當作是漫畫
看耶~Ivy又問大家有沒有感動呢??(這好像有點難耶?)
因為Ivy為了最後的場景~雪人融化了~而James知道自己不
是作夢~這樣的結尾又傷心,又感人....真棒
1. 好聽的歌曲"Walking in the air" 搭配著影片~好感人呀
2. 記憶力大考驗~看看同學記不記得雪人和小男孩James
玩了那些好玩的東西呢?同學的記憶力都超棒喔~好多
人都可以得到星星喔!!! Well done~
3. 這本繪本很紅喔~也有自己的專屬網站"The snowman",
同學有空可以上去玩玩~
The Story :
One winter morning a little boy named James wakes up
to find that everything outside has turned snow-white.
Overjoyed, James rushes downstairs and into the garden,
where he begins to build a snowman. James sleeps fitfully,
and at midnight he wakes up and decides to check on his
snowman. He opens the back door... he can't believe his
eyes... The snowman has come to life! James finds himself
face to face with a smiling snowman, who with a polite doff
of his hat introduces himself and marks the beginning of
magical friendship and marvellous adventure.
一個小男孩和雪人之間的溫暖友情，簡單而真誠，
充滿愉快的相處和驚喜的冒險；雖然第二天雪融了，
小男孩卻知道這一切都是真的，留下了永遠難忘的
記憶。充滿幻想的情節，讓孩子充滿期待，想跟著

著名插畫家 Raymond Briggs 於1978年所
創作的 The Snowman 如今已成為無字書的經典之
作。 雖然沒有任何文字敘述，但是讀者透過畫格之
間的清楚邏輯連繫，便能輕易地掌握故事的發展。
Briggs 運用了彩色鉛筆來繪製這個作品，巧妙地
以柔和的色彩與光影的變化，娓娓道出一段小男
孩與雪人之間的友情故事。
《雪人》（The Snowman）一書，此書後來被改
編為長達半小時的電視特別節目。這部迷人的影片
獲獎無數，包括英國影藝學院最佳兒童影片和歐洲
Prix Jeunnesse 獎，本片亦榮獲奧斯卡最佳動畫獎
的提名。

12/11,12 Christmas活動
大家似乎都感受到Christmas的氣氛近了,許多教室內內外外也都開
始布置Christmas相關的東東...所以Ivy也在這幾天努力的將報佳音
的歌曲帶給同學們,希望同學們可以樂在其中,也可以將歡樂散播給
更多的人喔....................(雖然有人興高采烈的想用直笛演出...但是
可惜"譜"還沒背好..... 沒關係....有心最重要,大家都已經很棒了,老
師也非常的支持跟配合....只要再多練幾次就一定會有好表現喔~

12/04 繪本媽媽月會囉~
這是今年的最後一次月會,大家合影留念,少了Anita老師,還有Billie還有
一些媽媽,真是太可惜啦,否則這將會是史無前例,空前絕後,絕無僅有的
合照(看起來珍貴到可以賣錢囉~)哈哈哈,因為大家都很忙,特別抽空到
場, 真是令人感動....感恩耶!!

本週心得分享 ~ Rain
這週所介紹的書是繪本Rain, 這是一本相當知名又有趣的書,
內容採用豐富的色彩及簡單的文句,讓同學能夠朗朗上口~
活動的設計為朗讀小詩 / 小詩即興創作 / 歌曲教唱
曲名: Rain,rain, go away.
得到的回餽是:
A. 朗讀: 410班所同學們能夠慢慢的練習文句,且帶有念詩的味道,
朗讀的過程中有著令Ivy感動的聲音表情在其中!!!!Well done~
408 有趣的是大家似乎急著將每一句小詩快一點念出來,
所以速度快(可能跟Ivy設定播放速度有關吧,10秒)~又快速又正確
另有一番不一樣的感覺喔~

下週要跟同學們玩什麼呢??
今天將最近欠的網誌補一補..........真的不是Ivy故意偷懶啦....這段時間
實在太多事情發生啦~除了Ivy出了小車禍外,婆婆也在最近的旅遊
中意外受傷回台灣開刀住院.........出院後還需要照顧....Ivy只好偷一
下懶現在才"補貨"囉~向Ivy的粉絲們鞠躬道歉......歹勢啦~(台語)
下週的故事時間~Ivy思考了一下,有幾個故事可以分享的,最後再決定
要挑那一本吧,先在此預告囉~

11/14 Alexander and wind-up mouse
本週介紹給同學們的繪本可是赫赫有名而且得過無數大獎
的書, "Alexander and wind-up mouse" 主角由一隻居家老鼠
Alexander及wind-up老鼠Willy組成,(什麼是wind-up呢?看圖
猜一猜),兩隻不同的老鼠建立了很好的友誼,但是Alexander實
在太羨慕Willy受到主人Anne的疼愛,而自己卻是人見人打的小
老鼠,更羨慕Willy能夠睡在主人又大又白又軟的枕頭上,自己還
要躲在黑暗的老鼠洞中.....如果我能變成跟Willy一樣該有多棒
ㄚ???Alexander呀,別洩氣....聽說呀,彩色的lizard可以幫你實現
願望喔,只要在月圓時拿著pupple的鵝卵石就可以完成願望啦!!
真是太好的消息啦...........Alexander使勁的找,用力的找,最後會
找得到嗎?小老鼠可以成功的變身嗎???還是會有什麼意想不到
的狀況發生呢????想知道精彩結局是什麼嗎???除了410,408的

Fly away Jack, fly away Jill,
Come back Jack, come back Jill.
請同學們伸出左右手的食指,分別為Jack, Jill,再分別做出飛走
的動作(可以飛到背後),然後再飛出來~就完成了!!

活動內容 :
1. 先跟同學分享養寵物的類別並跟同學分享自己養過的大小寵物~
2. 宣導一下"有負責任的行為才可以養寵物",而且不可以隨便棄養~
3. Guess game : 請同學猜猜,充滿想像力的Jack會提出要養什麼寵物?
同學在聽完故事後都驚呼"太離譜"啦..............怎會想到養這些動物呢?
哈哈哈...............Ivy只能說, "Jack~你真是太神奇啦"
10/31 Holloween
這天對參與英語繪本的班級可是個大日子呢!! 因為所有繪本媽媽都
會準備好吃的糖果來到班上"分享".....而且同學們可是個個摩拳擦掌,
躍躍欲試,像Ivy的410,408班呢~就將"Trick or treat"練的可真熟呀!
只見每個人上來演出都是朗朗上口要糖吃...真是棒極啦~
有的同學一下子就吃起candy來...有的捨不得馬上吃..要等到下課再
享用...........謝謝同學這兩週來跟各個媽媽們一起分享所有跟Holloween
有關的歌曲或是特殊人物,如monster, witch, spider, black cat, skeleton
jack-o-latern, bat......真的很有趣呀.
也謝謝所有提供idea/歌曲/照片的繪本媽媽~many thanks.
