Snow

Snow  by Uri Shulevitz  ~ Caldecott Honor book (siliver)

The dot

The dot by Peter H Reynolds

"Just make a mark and see where it takes you" Vashti says she can't draw.
Here teacher thinks she can. She knows that there's a creative spirit in
everyone, and where there's a dot, there's a way....

"A wonderfully liberating book....The small line drawings, set in clear white
space, covey everything they need to say with the utmost simplicity." the Guardian

I like the little girl, her face is from red to normal, it means she is very angry in the
very beginning but after the teacher shows her dot on the wall....everything different..
very different....and something change! I have to say the teacher is the key and the
girl is lucky to have the teacher!!

The magic rabbit

The magic rabbit by Richard Jesse Jatson

What's in the hat? Hat-and his own imagination. Presto! He makes frog jump, mice
scurry, and a flutter of birds fly up into the sky.

One surprise leads to another, until finally, it's the best trick ever....Finding a friend to
share your adventures is the greatest magic of all~

Friends are always important!!!

A new house for mouse

A new house for mouse  by Petr Horacek (by website)

How can mouse fit a huge apple into her tiny home?
By finding a new house, of course!

Peep through the holes and join her on her search.

It's a peep-through story book. People like to peep, but the little mouse is very polite to
ask the animal who lived in the hole: " I'm looking for a bigger house for me and my
apple. Can I live here with you?"  He always failed to find a new hole but still very
patient to say thanks for the hole ower.

Leo the Late Bloomer

Leo the Late Bloomer  by Robert Kraus/Jose Aruego (from website)

Leo couldn't do anything right. He couldn't read or write. He couldn't draw.
And he was a sloopy eater. Every day and every night Leo's father watched
him for sihgs of blooming.
"Are you sure Leo's a bloomer?" asked Leo's father.
"Patience," said Leo's mother.
The on day, in his own good time- Leo bloomed!

The moral is : The father is always without patience......(just kidding)

Dumpy La Rue

Dumpy La Rue by Elizabeth Winthrop/ Betsy Lewin (picture by website)

Dumpy? What animal can be called "dumpy"? hipo? elephant? pig?
No doubt, it is a pig.

這本書與Giraffe can't dance!

What's that noise?

by Mary Roennfeldt / illustrated by Robert Roennfeldt

Kitten's First Full Moon

by Kevin Henkes

Poor Kitten! What could she do? Poor Kitten! She was wet sad and tired and hungry.

The Snow Day

by Komako Sakai lived in Tokyo, Japan

(picture by website)

Rex

Ursula Dubosarsky / illustrated by David Mackintosh

Rex is the class pet.  Every day a different person gets to take Rex home.

What would you do if he came to visit you?

On Monday, Rex去Jai家, Rex went for a swim.......Lucky he can float.

On Wed...Thur.......Rex

The House in the Night

The caldecott medal book by Susan Marie Swanson,
 pictures by Beth Krommes

The House in the Night" 精彩的程度不惶多讓,線條,光線,色彩的設計乾淨清爽,溫暖的月光所呈現的橘黃色也在書中不時得照護著乘著飛鳥觀世界的讀者,時而虛幻,時而真實....

The Biggest Bear

By Lynd Ward  the Biggest Bear

What happened to the young kid? Why the bear run so fast? Is the kid in danger? The Caldecott Medal book was really surprised me!

The Christmas Magic

滿天星斗,作者 Lauren Thompson, pictures by Jon J Muth, 讓我們從故事中一窺Santa的內心及feel the air with magic.

I don't want a posh dog!

London, England.
我曾經介紹過我最喜愛的書之一"What pet to get?"
最perfect的狗狗囉~ (picture from website)

The Penguin and the Pea

Again, for penguin, I found an interesting book talked about the real princess. Isn't it familar with the other story? Yes, but it happened on penguin's kingdom. The queen wanted to identify the real princess, she put the pea under twenty mattresses!! What! Twenty! Are you kidding me?
The queen said " We must be absolutely sure that this young penguin is a real princess! Only a true princess is so delicate and fragile as to feel a single pea under twenty mattresses~

No doubt, the princess past the test and married with the young prince then joined in the royal family.

Would you like to try it? Put a pea under your pillow then feel it....can you really feel about the pea? If not, don't worry, you don't have to marry to the prince. (picture by website)

Don't Be Afraid, Little Pip

Don't Be Afraid, Little Pip   by Karma Wilson & Jane Chapman

Is penguin a bird or not? If yes, why it can't fly? Pip doesn't want to learn swimming but flying, his parents sang"Into the water, under the sea-that's the best place for a penguin to be. Flapping our wings and swishing on by.
Penguins can swim, so why should we fly?"

Pip didn't sing along. She looked up again at the sky. " I still just want to fly," she whispered.

Sometimes we like the differences, sometimes not. Kids have their own thinking about life to be but the real world sometimes not allow to.

Nothing scares Little Pip more than the thought of swimming in the deep dark ocean-she would rather than learn to fly just like the other birds do.

If you have such a kid like Pip, what will you do? Agree or disagree?
That will be an ineresting question. (picture by website)

A Sick Day for Amos McGee

A Sick Day for Amos McGee   by Philip c. Stead / illustrated by Erin E. Stead

Amos McGee, a friendly zookeeper, always made time to visit his goodfriends: the elephant, the tortoise, the peguin, the rhinoceros, and the owl.

But on day-"Ah-choo!"-- he woke up with the sniffles and the sneezes. Though he didn't make it into the zoo that day, he did receive some unexpected guests....

Philip Stead's gently humorous tale of friendship and dedication is illustrated by his wife Erin Stead's elegant drawings, embellished with subtle hints of color. (winner of the 2011 Caldecott Medal) ~ picked up from the book.

Dozy Mare

Dozy Mare  by Jeanne Willis / Tony Ross

You can stand still without any move like the dozy mare. But she isn't really dozy, she just like the freedom. Sometimes we asked our kids to do something and they just stay in their rooms and do nothing! Perhaps what they really need is freedom too?

Bigh Smelly Bear

Britta Teckentrup has  written so many interesting books for children and I introduced one copy before "Grumpy Cat", did you read it?

"Big Smelly Bear", there was a big bear who never washed even took any bath.  Big Smelly Bear was followed by a big smelly stink wherever he went. Flies buzzed all around him. Big Smelly Bear wanted to have a friend but who could stand the smelly bear?
Here is the surprise for a kind bear showing up, she can help the Big Smelly Bear to stop his itehes but she asked the Smelly bear to take a bath!!! "What?" "A bath!" Of coures, our Big bear will rather itch to die! They are arguing for a while then who's the winner? Guess!!!

Easy and warm story for kids easy to understand the frindship and the benefits for taking bathes.
