相當簡短的故事but for幼稚園剛剛好,Hey瞧瞧母G龐大的身影,
從露出一隻手臂->張大嘴教小G起床刷牙洗臉穿衣服->吃早餐
->上車綁安全帶->跟著媽媽探索世界...(好像我的寫照呀??)
突然飛來了一隻蝴蝶(會不會又是monkey puzzle那一隻??),小G
一個閃神沒聽到母G喊著hold my hand~ stay close....竟然轉身跟著
蝴蝶玩.....Nn......媽咪咧?又圓又大無辜的臉,帶著淡淡的擔憂眼神
特寫,只聽到背後傳來熟悉的聲音...Little Chiiiiiiiiiiiiiiicken!嘿嘿

Storytelling Procedures:
1. warm up ~ 5 little monkeys are jumping on the bed
    use the f fingers as monkeys, other palm as bed.
2. story
3. game1: water pipe for messages transferring.
    Give 1 water pipe for each 1 Ss team (6 Ss) line
    T print out and whisper a word message to the first Ss
    then pass one by one. Last Ss speak out loud the word.
    game2: use the body language to pass the "secret animal"
    to team members, one by one, then show the answer.
3. Discuss about what animal's baby is different from her mother?

好忙的Ivy

最近好像說故事的活動太忙了,剛從埔墘國小回來,她們的故事媽媽也很認真耶,而且有專屬的故事媽媽休息室....哎....海山的媽媽會不會太刻苦耐勞了呢??

一連串的忙碌讓生活過得好像高鐵的速度一樣快,三不五時還要熬夜幫豪哥加油..想想這也是一種家庭主婦的幸福呀..該是知足才對呢!

好可愛的小豬耶,雖然羨慕長頸鹿有長長的脖子可以看得更遠,斑馬有漂亮的條紋,大象有長長的鼻子,小鳥有翅膀可以飛......但最後他還是明白,羨慕別人沒有用,有時做自己最簡單也最快樂!

重複的句子,可以讓小孩跟著練習,輕快的節奏,孩子也可以很容易就知道小豬的心意.....每一次的模仿都有跡可循,是一本親子共讀絕佳的推薦喔~

至於活動的設計,我想可以利用動物的特徵及特長來發揮喔....待我努力的發想在上 傳囉!!

Froggy's Halloween

Every kid likes Halloween! Specially the froggy who should be super frog, faster than a dragonfly, stronger than a bullfrog......Halloween meant candy, but it also meant dressing up. Froggy wondered,"What should I be for Halloween?"

Froggy是一隻極受歡迎的美國小青蛙,糗事一籮筐的他,無論是外出用餐或是到海邊游泳,總是能將場面變得令人啼笑皆非,也是我幼稚園的小朋友超愛的角色喔~

Froggy的系列書很多,這本Froggy's Halloween,說出了小朋友期待Halloween的心情,
每個人都想要精心的打扮好成為同學羨慕的焦點.....當然也可以要到最多的糖果呀~Froggy最後到底打扮要比牛蛙強壯還要能飛的夠高的? 到底是甚麼呢??

Pete's a pizza

Ha, I like the story told about recipe or food, here is the one! Pete's a pizza~ I like the idea from Pete's father, he is such humorous, not only cheered the boy up and they had a wonderful funny time together, specially in rainy day.

Last Friday, I introduced this book to 海高附幼...and the activities were recorded as below:
1. warm up: Recognize the shapes, circle, triangle, rectangle, diamond, square, heart and oval.
You can play a lot shape games with body movements, like as "Who can make a circle by your body parts? You will find their creations, they can use fingers, palms or legs to do it.

2. story: Discussed the different type, shapes, favor, ingredients of  pizza. Then, tell the story. I ask Ss to help father roll the dough. right and left, up  and own, hard and soft...then put what they ordered fruit, vegetable, meat, ham or seafood and then put it into the oven and shared to everyone.

3. game: Pizza rolling challenge  ~ boys & girls
    2 Ss as a team, 1 is the dough and the other is the cook, then the cook must roll  
    the dough on the floor.....see which dough is rolling fast than the other.

You can see everyone try very hard to roll on the floor without pushing to win the game....Finally~the winner is boys team....Congulations! I know, they love the story~

The perfect nest

Oh, my~ 今天可是海小百合班搬家後第一次說故事, 我特別選了一本跟"家"有關的英語繪本"The perfect nest" Catherine Friend, illustrated by John Manders.別具意義喔!!

The perfect nest 顧名思義即知是某種"鳥or家禽"最理想的家=巢nest.......but這可是由不懷好意的貓-Jack所辛苦打造與裝潢~有非常舒適的稻草及軟墊加上七彩的燈泡點綴,不消說一定會吸引眾多禽鳥前來一探究竟的,但是到底Jack為什麼會這樣好心的幫禽鳥們打造美麗的家呢????是不是有甚麼壞主意呢?故事中,母雞首先出現了,覺得很不錯,住下來生了個小雞蛋...誰知母鴨也來了,這麼棒的家誰不愛呀,她也要住下來,把母雞推出去,生下個中鴨蛋......最後鵝媽媽也聞風而至,太美妙了,我也要住下來,把母鴨給踢下去..生了個大鵝蛋....大家都爭先恐後想要佔上風~Jack想了想~壞了...我本來是想要拿蛋來作歐姆蛋早餐,午餐還有晚餐...我該怎麼辦才可以把他們都趕走呀???傑克到底會使出甚麼計策才能拿到蛋呢?後續又會有甚麼發展呢??

非常有趣又有戲劇化的結局,小朋友對於結局可是哈哈大笑呢!!希望你也會喜歡喔~

 doesn't answer and keep spinning her web.

今天海高校園中的櫻花幾乎全開了,讓一早經過的Ivy有種浪漫的

感覺呀!春天真的來了~心情都high起來了!

story activities

1. warming up : ask Ss what they did during the Chinese new year vacation.

2. key words: spider + man, super + man, bat + man, spin the web

3. storytelling

4. song: the itsy weesy spider
5. game: rubber bands x 80 (make 4 lines)
    5-1 invite 8 Ss and each one hold each end of one rubber band as a web
    5-2 other Ss can crawl or jump to past the rubber band
    (this is the simple game, u can change the web structure and have fun.)

2011年都快過完了....現在才po上這些好書會不會太慢了呢??
不過好書總值得一再的品味, Ivy會好好研究這些書,看看我們的圖書館有沒有採購進來,屆時歡迎一起來討論喔...

Reading is Thinking!

今天讀了 "Chryanthemum"這一本關於名字的書,讓我聯想到另一本我也喜愛的書"Tikki Tikki Tempo",每一次帶孩子們閱讀時總會提到每個人的名字都是獨一無二的,但總是會被吐槽...菜市場名,算命算的都一樣等等...其實英文名又何嘗不是呢?到處可見的Ivy,Mary,David....(sorry,無意貶低各位)所以最好能告訴孩子關於他/她名字來源的小故事,雖然現在改名字很方便,但是想想要將一個陪伴自己很久的老朋友遺棄,真是令人不捨呀~

Chryanthemum雖然名為菊花,但是其中父母親充滿了滿滿的愛與關懷為孩子命名,怎奈同學的嘲諷與欺凌,讓原本開心上學的小老鼠Chryanrhemum失落的放學回家找安慰.....


Tikki Tikki Temp則是諷刺中國傳統重視大兒子而取了個長長的名字表示隆重,怎知這樣的名字卻讓去求救的弟弟吃足了苦頭,差點延誤了救哥哥的時間....

(我通常會請小朋友玩命名~幫忙麥當勞的漢堡取名如無敵香酥Q嫩海辣雙層牛肉起士蔬菜堡.....然後請其他小朋友連續唸個5次,然後互相pk,好玩極了)你也可以試試囉~

Night of the Gargoyles

今天讀了這一本很驚豔的書,原因除了作者與彙者都是我很喜愛的圖畫書界的大人物外, 今天上午剛上完了永康老師的怪獸課,益發覺得怪獸真是可愛呀.....偏偏這本書中的怪獸非常得與眾不同,如此的人性化,又帶著神秘感....一口氣讀完它就想立刻上網訂購...可惜我要的是英文版,看來得要好好找一找啦~分享給大家囉.....(我聯想到中國古代建築或是廟宇好像也有怪獸???)

11/01 It looked like spilt milk

I use the sign language to present this book which I refered from Youtube and I love the sing language, too. I remember that I learned it since I were still a college student.

Contents:

1. present the sige language of animals mentioned inside first and teach Ss how to do it.

2. Storytelling (acting while the animal showing up)

3. Activity: (use 2 hands)

3-1 Basic ....turtle, turtle move~ (same as Chinese game) ~use fingers

3-2 Advanced...........crodile crodile up/down/right/left ~use palms

This game is very easy to play and Ss like to PK Ivy which have a lot of fun.....

p.s.

I also use the same game to present another story book "little croc and bird".

The bird taught the little croc how to make friends with the others "treat them nicely, warmly and no teasing" then the little croc learned a lesson and finally won the friendship from the animals but....

10/26 An unlucky day for Ivy

This was a bad day for me since I had a car accident and broken my ring finger! Poor Ivy!

It's quite hard to use only right hand to do everything including shower, key-in, riding my motocycle....etc. The doctor said that I should rest at least 3 months. Can you image that? Wow....

So, I think I have enough spare time to update my blog and recommand more interesting story books for all.

假期結束~上工啦

好像很久沒有在國內過暑假了,今年因諸多原因取消了原訂的美國行程留在國內,卻被熱到整天都懶洋洋的,唉,不知道是人年紀大咧還是天氣實在太熱啦...

雖然留在國內,可也沒閒著,除了送 James去高雄參加百年亞太區團軍大露營外,James上了五週的國一暑輔(第一週請假)................做媽的當然天天接送~就把原來已經不太白的皮膚曬的更黑啦,真是犧牲頗大~

為了把握最後假期,安排了一趟日本北海道之旅,3天台南之行,日子過的也挺充實的,最重要的當然是也為了英繪志工的孩子們開了為期一個月共四堂英語讀書會~感謝大朋友小朋友的熱列捧場喲~教學相長,Ivy也算有讀書喔!!

接下來,Ivy會將四堂課所介紹的書po上來給大家參考一下囉~

Borka

John Burmingham 的Borka是他的第一本書,上周六到市圖萬華說故事剛好選了這一本書(中文版), 故事中的寶兒讓人憐惜, 雖然聰明的鴨媽咪幫寶兒做了一件毛背心讓寶兒穿,但是種種的不方便,卻讓寶兒終究在學習領域上落後同儕...但是,不怕不怕,Borka長大了,也有了自己的選擇,走上了不同的道路卻也為自己的人生開出不一樣的花朵....It's amazing.

到市圖來的孩子大多是學齡前或是低年級,有時會穿插幾位中高年級,在選故事題材是有時就會增加了一點難度,不過Borka ~"穿背心的野鴨寶兒"這本書內容還蠻能夠cover這些range的, 一來John Burmingham的水彩畫風生動易懂,文字內容清楚表達概念又貼近生活,尤其是寓教於樂,善於以孩子的觀點來描寫人生,常常是大人愛不釋手再轉介書給孩子,我覺得是親子共讀很不錯的選擇~ 其他作品: Grandpa / Mr. Gumpy's Outing/ALDO/Hey, Get out of our train (這一本也很棒喔...下次來介紹一下)敬請期待

Marvin Gets MAD!

Look at the Marvin, he is very angry at his good friend Molly. But why? You will never ever thought about that tenderly sheep will grow MAD teeth, MAD horns, MAD feet, and a MAD tail. What a lovely story! I did read some stories talking about "angry" but they are almost "kids" like as "When sophie gets angry", "Angry Arthur" , " Alexander and the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day, " Where the wild things are" , now Joseph Theobald gave us a fantastic charactor - Marvin the sheep whose behaviors are more close to the young kids.

Activity: (props: flash cards of fruit and colors)
1. warm up: fruit and colors
1-1.What kind of fruit is red? yellow? brown? green? purple? pink? white?
1-2.What is your favorite fruit? or What fruit do you like to eat?

2. Story telling.

3. Q & A :
3-1 Why Molly eat the Marvin's apple?
3-2 Did Marvin feel angry?
3-3 What happen to Marvin when he gets really, really angry?
3-4 Who found Marvin and lead him back?
3-5 What can you do if you feel angry?

There was an old lady who swallowed a fly

心想這是本經典的英語繪本,應該會有許多孩子都已經聽過n次了吧...懷著忐忑的心,將準備好的道具及書打包好便前往後埔國小進行今天的活動,出乎我意料的,孩
子們竟然沒有聽過這本書????為什麼呢????想不通?可能是因為沒有中譯本吧!

Anyway, 今天孩子在帶領下可以懂的作者的幽默,很棒耶,由於有愛閱讀的導師,能夠讓孩子有機會多接觸不同領域的書,真是孩子的幸福呀....給老師拍拍手!!

Story: There was an old lady who swallowed a fly
props: box, flash card, 疊疊樂

Activity:
1. Divide Ss into 2 teams and named "Lion" and "Elephant"
2. Ask the frenquence of the old lady swallowed the animals
What animal does the old lady swallow first?
What is next one? (The old lady swallow what animals to catch the...)
3. Choice one S for each team and make "paper, sissors, stone".
The winner can come to front of black board to pick up the animal
and help the old lady to swallow it.
4. Take one piece of 疊疊樂 and put it on the top of the "building".
5. Who destroy the building, team lose.
6. Introduce the same series books of the old lady.
7. Films of different animations or songs (by youtube)

My lucky Day

My lucky Day 是本週我在後埔說的story,選擇這本書是因為情有獨鍾,
在5年前開始說故事時,就接觸到的書,因為太多很棒的書可以當題材,
就沒再講過這一本,有一天偶然在新北市圖找書時又看到了"它",就
好像見到老朋友一般親切,於是決定請小豬跟狐狸再次上場......

先show出我的picture book cover page給Ss, then ask Ss "What
animal do you see?" 大部份回答是"小豬與狼"?? 封面上是"狼"wolf嗎?
大家言之鑿鑿,連我也開始懷疑了????

哈哈哈,很像啦,不是 "Red riding hood" or "Three little pigs"裡的
big bad wolf. It's more like the book "Rosie's walk"或是"Hungry hen"裡頭
那兩隻超"糗"的fox狐貍啦....(印象中fox應該很聰明呀,像電影狐狸與我...)

一開場, Mr. Fox 一邊開心的磨亮他的爪子,一邊讀著如何獵食好吃的食物
(讀書耶....難怪聰明..)正準備出去獵食晚餐,突然出現的聲音讓Mr. Fox可是
滿臉"狐疑"????怎麼聽起來會是最美味"食物"~~~"pig"的聲音???

接下來Mr. Fox 不費吹灰之力就將送上門來的小豬豬給它"手到擒來",
Mr. Fox真覺得今天是自己超幸運的"Lucky Day",準備大顯身手一番,
接著一場鬥智的精采戲碼就上演了....我們的髒小豬到底能不能逃過
這一劫難呢?過程處處充滿驚奇,圖片中可看到狐狸眼神的精明,小豬
眼神的無辜....時間一分一秒的過去,小豬危在旦夕.....
(接下來到底發生什麼事,自己去看囉...............結局非常令人捧腹喔..)

搭配的Activity: (因時間有限,實際操作為精簡版)
1. Q: How to show the words " Good Luck" to your friend with fingers?
A:Cross your "pointer" and "tall man" fingers...and you can do it by
both of your hands that means "double lucky".

2. Bingo game (some papers/number balls 1-15 pick 9 )
Rules : First line ~ S raises hand and calls " I love Ivy."
Second line: ................"I love my mom."
Third line: .................." Bingo!"
p.s. (the rules can be changed by any slogan~ it depends.)

Keiko Kasza 是日本人後來到美國讀書, 有許多插畫家受到Leo Lionni
大師(就是小黑魚,一寸蟲...的插畫家,屢屢得到國際大獎,受到愛戴)的
啟發開始創作的歷程, Keiko Kasza也是欣賞他的 Frederick就喜歡上
繪本並從事業餘的創作.... (也許下一個是你喔??)

Keiko Kasza說當她創作時就把自己當作是書中的角色,有時是找尋媽媽
的飛鳥或是想要留下美好印象給女朋友的小豬.....一切都有趣極了...

當然她的作品得到了大獎也暢銷到許多國家,我欣賞的是她的幽默,畫風
清朗,眼神唯妙唯肖,讓小朋友能夠很快進入角色,故事又生動有趣,每每聽
到孩子的笑聲,我覺得, Keiko Kasza妳真棒....

Happy Mother's Day

Dear all mommies,
